Advanced Training and Competition Program

• A combination of training rides, ground work, lessons, and rest days scheduled to best meet the needs of both you and your horse.

• Your horse’s veterinary care, farrier care, and routine worming will be scheduled and managed for you (billed at owner’s expense).

• Horses will be groomed daily and receive turnouts and hot-walker sessions as needed (Tuesday thru Sunday).

• Your horse will be tacked-up when you arrive for your lesson and properly put away for you after your lesson is over. Tack will be cleaned and put away after each use.

• Supplements and Medication (provided at owner’s expense) will be fed daily, during colder months horses will be blanketed and unblanketed as needed.

• Routine mane pulling and clipping of muzzle, legs, ears and bridle path will be performed as needed.

Multiple Horse Discount

Individuals and families that have more than one horse in training will receive $100 off the monthly training fees for each additional horse that they have in training.

Horse Care/Lay Ups
For horses that are not in training or who are on long term lay up.

• Grooming and Horse Care Days
Tuesday thru Sunday

• Blanketing will be done every day in the cold season when it is needed.

• Feed Store Accounts
A charge account at our local feed store is required for all clients with horses in training. This account will be used to purchase your horse’s supplements, worming medication, and blanket cleaning/repair.

• Sales
A 10% commission will be charged on horses that are purchased or sold for clients.

• Full Body Clipping Fees

Are for students and horses that are not currently in our full service training program. All fees are due at the time the service is rendered unless otherwise noted.


• Individual Lesson on Your Own Horse

• Individual Lesson on a School Horse

Lessons are scheduled as either a 30 minute private session (one on one with the instructor), a 45 minute semi private session (two riders), or a 1 hour small group session (three to four riders).

Lesson Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule your time slot we require that you give us a minimum of 24 hours notice so that we can give your time slot to another student. If you are not able to provide ample notice to cancel your lesson you will be charged your normal price for your time slot. We recommend that you are tacked up and on your horse at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson time to allow for an ample warm up for you and your horse.

• Individual Training Ride - For Horse
Includes tack up and put away grooming service if you are not able to be present during the training ride.

A one hour turnout session or 30 minute hot walker session.

Show Services & Fees

• Show Prep
This service includes a mane pull/trim, tail trim, and clipping of muzzle, ears, bridle path, legs, and a full bath.

• Trainer Day Fee
This service includes coordinating horse show entries, arranging your horse’s transportation to and from the show, packing and unpacking tack and equipment, schooling of horse and rider, trainer show rides, and coaching of the rider for classes.

$50/day (multiple day shows; or for riders competing in non-jumping classes at single day shows)

• School Horse Day Lease
For students in our Riding School program that would like to day lease a school horse to take to a show.

• Grooming
Includes: feeding, watering and cleaning the horses stall; bathing, grooming, tacking and un-tacking the animal; show ring touch ups, lunging, hand walking, and bandaging legs.

• Braiding
Mandatory for horses competing in the “A” rated Hunter and Equitation divisions.

Billed at Cost (charged on an as needed basis; typically braids should be redone each day that the horse competes)

• Bedding
Will be purchased at the horse show and the cost divided by the number of horses attending the show.

• Hay/Supplemental Feed
Currently Spirit Equestrian allows horses boarded at the facility to take the animal’s normal hay rations to the show with them at no additional charge. Your horses regular supplemental feed will be packed up and taken to the show as well.

• Dressing Room Fees
Determined by show facility. The cost of the dressing room stall will be divided among attending clientele.

• Groom Stalls Fees
Determined by show facility. The cost of the grooming stall/s will be divided by the number of horses attending the show.

• Show Setup
A show tent and furniture will be provided for your comfort at show venues where the space and time warrants. The cost of any additional materials needed for the show setup (such as bark chips and sod) will be divided among attending clientele.

• Hotel Accommodations
Hotel fees for out of town shows requiring the trainer and groom to stay in a hotel will be divided among attending clientele.

• Show Service Fees
** Are due by the last day your horse is at the show **

• Horse Transportation
Rates vary according to the location of the show. (Round trip payment is due prior to shipping your horse to the show)

Basic Program Information

• Late Payments
Payments for Training, Horse Care, and A la carte Services are due at the first of the month, prior to the month in which the services are rendered. You can submit your payment in person (by placing it in the “Checks for Sanaa” box in the first tack room or by mail to our P.O. Box listed below). All payments received after the 7th day of the month will be assessed a late fee of $50 per horse. If payment has not been received by the 15th of the month all services will be discontinued until your account has been paid in full.

• Returned Checks
A $30 fee will be charged for checks that are returned. In addition, our late payment policy will apply if valid payment is not received on time.

• On Grooming and Tacking Service
We provide an all inclusive service that allows both conveniences for our busy clients as well as insures consistent and quality care to the horses. Although full service care is provided with your training package we highly encourage our students to spend as much “hands on time” with their horses as possible. To truly become a great rider and horseperson it is imperative to understand as much about horses as one can; not just from on top of their backs, but also from interacting with them on the ground and participating in their day to day care.

• Additional Services
If there are any additional services that you require for yourself or your horse that are not currently included in our training package please discuss this with Sanaa directly and we will work with you to meet your needs.

• Questions and Concerns
If at anytime during your tenure with us you have any questions, concerns, or comments that you would like to be heard, please speak with Sanaa directly about these matters. All inquiries will be kept in the strictest confidence.

• Equipment Needed
The following is a list of the equipment that you will need to provide for your horse:

• Saddle, Bridle, Bit, Martingale (if needed), Girth, and any necessary saddle pads for use when you are riding your horse.

• Full set (Front and Back) of boots for your horse, please talk to Sanaa about brand and type, also bell boots for horses that need them.

• Any “special” products required by your horse that are not a part of our normal grooming and care supplies.
